DCalling is an independant and low cost telefon service for landline and mobile connections. Using a country wide flaterate you can dial in on a German landline phonenumber and call through to destinations abroad or other mobiles.
DCalling can be used easily from every phone. You register yourself for free, top up your account and start make phone calls at very low prices. Just dial 0221 988 8400 and - after DCalling answers your call - dial your destination. (If you haven't entered your own number during the registration process, you will be asked for your calling card number. By pressing 1 after entering your calling card number, your number will be register for future use, thus you don't have to enter your calling card number again from this individual phone).
To make it even more comfortable you can define speed dial numbers at the login area. These can be used by simply pressing the speed dial number followed by the #-key next time you want to call this number.
You can also just permanently save the DCalling dial in number followed by a pause "p" preceeding your destination number. How to enter the pause key "p" depends on your phone [e.g. Nokia press * three times; SonyEriccson press * for 2 seconds]. In total the number will look similar to this: 02219888400p0172123456789. (see also help #21)
Advice: In some mobile phones you need to type in the pause key twice (pp), since only one would cause a time frame that is too short.
You can call your last number again by typing the signs *1# as soon as our system asks for the dialing number.
You can take a look at your account by typing in the signs *0# as soon as our system asks you to type in the destination number. Your balance will be told you.
DCalling does not charge for the account and there are no monthly or hidden costs. Only the actual used minutes are charged according to our low price rates.
You can register here for free and get yourself a complimentary 0.42 € start balance.
To recharge your balance, you have to login HERE. At your login area you will find all information about possible payments at "account info". You may choose from bank transfer or paypal/credit card payment to recharge your balance. You can top up any amount above 20 €.
Your account and balance will be valid unlimited. But if you haven't used your account for more than 1 year, we will apply a small administration fee, that will be withdrawn from your account. As soon as you reuse your account, there will be no fee for another 12 months.
We are strongly striven to offer the lowest prices on the market. Our actual rates are available here. If you can find a competitor with even lower prices, we are happy to receive a note from you!
Unused credit can unfortunately not be payed by due to technical issues - we work on this issue to make it possible in the future! If you cancel your DCalling account you will receive the remaining credit less service fees to the amount of 35 % of your current balance (at least 5 Euro). If your current balance is equal or less than 5 Euro, we will keep the remaining credit as service fee. The fee does not apply if you do not have any credit left. Further, there will never be a payment obligation in excess of the current credit.
You do not have to spend a centain amount of money per month, but if you don't use your account for more than 12 month, DCalling will charge you 3 Euro per month - the money will be withdrawn from your balance, if your balance is zero, no charges will apply.
DCalling has dial-in numbers available in Germany, the USA, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Within a short time, there will be more dial- in numbers offered, in and out of Europe.
Besides, you have the possibility to use our web-callback via webinterface by typing in two numbers, that should get connected. With the help of your web- phone you are even able to call over your Java-client without installation of software. You can also make calls from hardware (e.g. Fritz!Box) or softclients (e.g. Softphone X-Lite).
No, DCalling just supplements your standard rate so that you can make low-cost international phone calls as well as low-cost calls to mobile phones.
No, if you dialed-in and than put in the wrong number, you just have to click #* and you can type in another number.

Yes, you can!
As from now, all DCalling customers can send free text messages in every mobile phone network worldwide! For free text messages there are 124 characters available.
DCalling customers can also send text messages for 9.9 Cent per text message worldwide, which are unlimited regarding length. The sender number will be shown to the receiver of the text message, so that the receiver is able to answer directly to the shown number. Therefore, it is required to verify your own number at the login area at "Add Caller ID".
In order to use this function you have to register at DCalling.
Yes, you can initiate Callback via telephone call.
You just need a local landline or local mobile phone, where you can receive calls. Using this line you call our callback number in Germany. Just let it ring and hang up again. You will be called back immediately by our computer asking the destination where you would like to phone to. Now just enter the destination number and start calling without paying roaming fees.
Callback- number : 0049 221 99760501
To be able to use Callback, you have to register your number at login-area at "Add Caller ID". Also do not suppress your caller ID feature.
Whether your calling number will be shown to the receiver or not sometimes depends on your mobile network. You can activate this feature by typing in the code *31# followed by the number you would like to call.
When you call the DCalling dial-in number you will be asked for your card number (for identification),
- if you do suppress your caller ID feature
- if you call from a number that you have not registered as your caller ID. If you wish, you can then add this number to your caller IDs by pressing 1.
This failure indicates that your DTMF-tones are not transmitted properly. Either this is caused by the connection between your provider and our system or by your end device.
In case your end device is not transmitting the DTMF-tones, usually you can adjust this setting with a key combination to activate tone dialling (see instruction manual).
Depending on the brand, there are several key combinations which activate DTMF-tones. If necessary, contact the manufacturer of your phone or check the instruction manual for DTMF-tones or tone dialling.
Examples: After dialling in at DCalling:
- "Speichertaste * Speichertaste"
- Alcatel 4400 Premium Reflexes: "##"
- Ericson PBX: "9" (needs to be repeated for each call that requires DTMF)
- Nokia Cellphone: "Options - Send DTMF" or "Options - Send Tones"
followed by the number you wish to call and the #-key
If you would like to enter a number that you did not save as a speed dial and that you don't want to enter digit by digit, you can do the following:
Example: Nokia Mobile Phone:
1) Dial-In at DCalling
2) Options - Send DTMF/Send tones - Select/Choose from phonebook
3) Add number out of the contacts from your phonebook (see "Note" below!)
4) Send DTMF
Note: Please type the number in as "0049-221-1234567" or "0034-123456789". Please switch a "+" in front of the country code into a "00".
After your registration at DCalling it should work right away. Please note our instruction to setup a Fritz!Box. If you still have problems, please don t hesitate to contact us.
If you dial-in at DCalling and you enter the number you wish to call, please type the number in as "0049-221-1234567" or "0034-123456789". Do not enter a "+" in front of the country code but enter "00", otherwise DCalling does not receive the number properly.
Please also note: If you enter the number not fast enough, it could be that DCalling starts dialling even though you did not enter the #-key to confirm. If you do not enter another digit for about 5 seconds, the system thinks you are done dialling. To avoid this time-out, you can save numbers as speed dial, then you only have to press "3#" for example. You can save numbers at your login area at the menu bar "speed dial".
We do not send you any invoices by mail. However, you have the possibility to download your invoices. You can do so by clicking "Invoices" at the menu bar at your login area as soon as the invoice amount is received at our account.
If your phone already defined a task for the #-key, you might not use it to confirm the destination number you just entered. You should then wait a few seconds after entering the last digit. The system thinks you are done dialling and is sending the number even without the #-key.
There are several possibilities to use DCalling. In addition to using the particular Dial-in number, DCalling does also offer Callback, VoIP and other features. By using the Simulator you can gain an overview of the various connection options and the corresponding costs.
No, please do NOT press the green dial-key! Only press the #-key to confirm your input! By pressing the green dial-key on your phone, the connection would be established via your telephone provider and wouldn't route via DCalling. To control, if the connection is being established via DCalling you should pay attention to the initial announcement of the cost of the route. This announcement does not occur if the call is routed via your telephone provider.
To simplify the process of typing in the number you wish to call, you can also use the speed dial function. Here, too, you should confirm the speed dial number with the #-key or just wait until the time-out is reached.
We are not aware of any! :-) If you have ideas on how we can improve our service to become even more user friendly (some features you miss), we are happy to hear from you.
To protect customers and their transactions via credit card DCalling is using the 3D Secure policy to ensure a safe use of credit cards.
3D Secure is a safety policy that confirms the identity of the credit card holder with an extra password when you make an online transaction. With this policy customers and retailers are protected against credit card misuse and fraud.
More and more banks are supporting the 3D Secure policy in order to implement an extra authentication of the card holder. With this policy information will be asked which cannot be found directly on the credit card. Thus this online transaction is more secure.
The credit card providers are using different names for this policy. While MasterCard uses the name “MasterCard Secure Code” Visa calls it “Verified by Visa”. 3D Secure requires a non-recurring registration which can be made on your bank’s homepage or while you are doing a transaction on the Internet.
During the registration additional data is collected, which is used for a security check in later transactions. After the registration you will be just asked about these additional data in following transactions.
You can register for 3D Secure via the webpage of the bank which has issued your credit card or directly during the payment process.
To find out if your bank is supporting this process, please directly contact the related bank.
More information about Verified by Visa and MasterCrad secure Code can be found on the webpage of the credit card provider or when you follow the given links:
