1. The called number cannot be identified -- I am requested to enter it again.

This is caused by an error during the transmission of DTMF signal tones (touch tones). In most cases this is related to the connection of your provider with our system or simply by your phone. If your phone does not transmit touch tones, you can change this by using a key combination which activates tone dialing (can usually be found in the instructions for your phone). Alternatively you can assign DNumbers, speed-dials or use a different dial-in-number.

2. How can I send touch tones (DTMF-tones)?

According to which telephone you are using, you need to press different key combinations to activate the touch tones. Contact the producer of your phone if necessary or look up how to activate touch tones/DTMF-tones in the instruction manual.

Examples: After the dial-in for DCalling:

  • "Memory transistor * Memory transistor"
  • Alcatel 4400 Premium Reflexes: "##"
  • Ericsson PBX: "9"

Afterwards, please enter the destination number and press the pound key #.

3. How can I call a number from my phone book with DCalling?

If you want to call a number from your telephone book, which is not
saved as a DNumber, please do the following:

Ex. Nokia Handy:

  1. Dial a Dial-in-number
  2. Options - send DTMF -- Search
  3. Add phone number from phone book (see note below)
  4. Send DTMF

Please note: make sure you use the format 0221-1234567 or 0049-221-1234567 and
replace "+" keys by "00" before dialing.

4. Why do I get the announcement: invalid call number?

Please enter the number you wish to call using the following format: "0221-1234567" or "0049-221-1234567". Additionally, please do not dial "+" before you enter the international area code, but replace it with "00" instead.

Please note: If you dial your number too slowly, it is possible that DCalling connects you although you did not press the pound key #. If it takes more than 5 seconds until you enter the next digit, our system registers the entry as finished and connects your call. To avoid this time-out, you can define DNumbers or speed dials.

5. How can I make sure that my phone number is displayed as sender?

If the transmission of your phone number is activated on your phone (i.e. you are not calling anonymously), your number is usually transmitted. In case your phone number is not transmitted, you may contact our support staff for further checking.

You can also activate the transmission of your phone number for individual calls by using a code. Please dial *31# before you enter your DCalling Dial-in-number.

6. How can I deactivate "Show my caller-ID" without entering my cardnumber everytime?

The card number is a secret number that can be used to establish a connection with DCalling from any phone available to you. It is not necessary to enter the card number if your phone number is saved in your DCalling account at Telephone > Phone Numbers. A different way to save a phone number in your DCalling account is to press 1 after entering the card number.

Please make sure the transmission of DTMF is set on 'RTP or Inband'. You can also try out other settings.

8. When I try to use the 1 click setup for my Fritz!Box I can neither see the “Configure Fritz!Box” button nor the applet.

This indicates you don't have Java installed. To resolve this, please download a Java plugin that is compatible with your browser. Then log in on DCalling again and set up your Fritz!Box.
